Introduction to Glass Fusion

Glass fusion is a process in which you take a variety of glass and fuse it together with
high heat, in a kiln. You can shape it into a bowl, dish, plate, a vase, or leave it flat for a
windcatcher, a plant stake, a picture, pendants and earrings, or just about anything

you can imagine.

In this beginner class you will make either a plant stake or a small sun catcher. All work
will be completed during the class but you will have to return (at your convenience) to

pick up the finished piece, once it has been fired.

  • You will learn how use a glass cutter, a grinder, nipping tools and running pliers. We will also cover how to select glass and the difference between firing programs
  • All tools and glass used in project will be provided.
  • This class will be a pre-requisite for all other classes and for independent work in the glass studio
  • Please wear close toed shoes and bring your imagination!
  • Maximum 6 people per class

      This was so much fun!

Elinor was an amazing instructor, and my husband and I had such a blast coming in and learning how to use all of the tools available to us. We can’t wait to go pick up our final fired pieces, and are excited new members of MakerSpace because of our experience. I can’t wait to take more classes!
